Curtains are the largest piece of fabric in most Singapore homes and the one people think about least. They sit in the path of every open window, which in this climate means humidity, dust, traffic particulate and cooking oil — and they hold all of it quietly for years.
How Often
Every 6 to 12 months for curtains in a living room or a bedroom facing a main road. Every 12 to 18 months for quieter rooms. Homes near the sea, along East Coast, Pasir Ris or Sentosa Cove, tend to need it sooner — salt air settles into the fabric and dulls it. Sooner if anyone in the household has allergies, or if you can smell the room on the fabric.
Blackout curtains need attention on their own schedule. The coated backing traps moisture against itself, and in a humid flat that is where mould starts — usually along the bottom hem, where you will not notice it until it has spread.
What It Costs
Curtains are weighed, not counted, because a single blackout panel can weigh more than 4 sheers. Cleaning alone is $14 per kilogram, weighed to the nearest kilogram.
If you would rather not handle the rails, we take them down and put them back up: $16 per kilogram, with a $150 minimum order. Ceilings between 3m and 4m are $20.50 per kilogram — high work takes two people and proper access equipment.
Or Leave Them Hanging
Our on-site service cleans curtains where they are, priced by piece count: $109 for 2 pieces up to $409 for 18. It is the practical option when a household cannot spare bare windows for a few days — common with the tall, full-height drapes in Orchard and Bukit Timah condominiums — and it carries the same $150 minimum as the rest of our on-site work.
Before We Arrive
Unhook any decorative tiebacks and tell us if the track is fragile or has been re-fitted. If a panel has a tear or a weak seam, point it out at collection — we can mend it in the same trip rather than sending it back with the tear opened wider by the wash.
