Question 1

Is collection and delivery really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on orders of $40 and above. We have a $40 minimum order for collection and delivery, so an order worth less than that is still charged at $40 — or you are welcome to drop in at any of our four outlets instead.

Question 2

When do you collect?

Accepted Answer

Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Question 3

Which areas do you cover?

Accepted Answer

We collect and deliver across Singapore — from Bukit Timah, Orchard and Holland Village in central Singapore, to East Coast, Tampines and Pasir Ris in the east, Sengkang and Punggol in the north-east, Jurong and Clementi in the west, and Sentosa. Wherever you are on the island, we come to you.

Question 4

Do I need to be home?

Accepted Answer

No. Leave your laundry outside your door with a tag or note marked "Astoria" and our driver will collect it.

Question 5

Are there any extra charges?

Accepted Answer

Parking fees are charged to the customer where applicable. Curtain removal and installation, and all on-site cleaning, carry a $150 minimum order.

Question 6

Does turnaround change during busy periods?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Turnaround times may vary, especially during peak periods such as school holidays and the year-end festive season. If you need something back by a certain date, let us know when you drop it off and we will tell you what is possible.

Question 7

How long does it take?

Accepted Answer

4 working days as standard. Leather and suede take 10 to 14 days because the drying and reconditioning cannot be rushed.

Question 8

Can I get something back faster?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Same-day service is 3× the normal cleaning rate, for items in before 12pm. Next-day is 2× the normal rate.

Question 9

What if I cannot collect on time?

Accepted Answer

We will hold your order and contact you if it has not been collected after two weeks. Express fees are not reversed for items not collected on time.

Question 10

Are your prices the same all year?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our rates hold year-round — we do not run a high season or seasonal surcharges.

Question 11

Why are curtains priced by weight?

Accepted Answer

Because a single blackout panel can weigh more than 4 sheers. Weighing is fairer than counting panels. We round to the nearest kilogram.

Question 12

What is the difference between laundry and load wash?

Accepted Answer

Laundry is priced per piece, each item tagged and tracked, returned pressed on hangers. Load wash is priced by weight at $8/kg with a 5kg minimum, and comes back folded. No pressing is included with load wash.

Question 13

Do you quote before starting?

Accepted Answer

For anything priced 'onwards' — wedding gowns, alterations, recolouring — yes. We look at the piece and confirm the price before any work begins.

Question 14

When do I pay?

Accepted Answer

Payment must be made in full before you collect your items or arrange for delivery. Once your items have been processed we will send you the final amount. If you bring items to an outlet, payment is taken at drop-off.

Question 15

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept cash, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard, Visa, American Express and PayNow.

Question 16

Can you remove an old stain?

Accepted Answer

Often, yes. The odds fall the longer it sits, and fall a great deal if it has been rubbed or had heat applied. Tell us what the substance was and what has already been tried.

Question 17

What should I not do to a stain?

Accepted Answer

Do not rub it, do not use hot water, do not put the item in a dryer, and do not reach for household bleach or a supermarket stain spray. Blot straight down with a clean white cloth and get it to us.

Question 18

Will dry cleaning shrink my clothes?

Accepted Answer

No — that is the point of it. Solvent does not make natural fibres swell the way water does, which is why suits, blazers and delicate pieces go for dry cleaning rather than a wash.

Question 19

Can you clean an item with no care label?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We identify the fibre by hand and treat it on the method we use for similar material. If we think the risk is too high, we will say so before starting.

Question 20

Do you clean mouldy items?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Demoulding is a $50 surcharge on top of the normal cleaning fee, and it works best before the bloom has had months to etch into the finish — this is common on leather bags stored in sealed plastic.

Question 21

Where are your outlets?

Accepted Answer

Four locations across the island:

Addresses, opening hours and directions for each are on the Contact page.

Question 22

What are your opening hours?

Accepted Answer

Defu, One Claymore and Coronation Plaza — Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
The Makena — Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm.

All outlets are closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Question 23

Do you have any promotions or discounts?

Accepted Answer

We run promotions from time to time. Follow us on Instagram (@astoria.sg) and Facebook, and keep an eye on this website and the news bar at the top of every page, as new offers are posted there first.

Question 24

Can you handle corporate or hospitality volumes?

Accepted Answer

Yes, through our corporate wing, Astisan by Astoria. We work with hotels, restaurants, fashion labels and government statutory boards. Email sales@astoria.com.sg and we will put together terms for your volume.

Question 25

Can government agencies work with you?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We are GeBIZ Registered and vendors@gov Registered, so government agencies and statutory boards can engage us directly. Email sales@astoria.com.sg for a quotation.

Question 26

Do you do alterations without cleaning?

Accepted Answer

Yes, though most customers combine the two. Please pin or mark the length you want, or send a similar piece to match — we do not measure garments on site.
